This group is in charge of collecting scientific opinions and recommendations that will be useful for risk management concerning the use of food additives that may be harmful for human health and, according to the existent regulations, are prohibited in the industry.
Both coordination and communication of this panel with the scientific Network as well as other entities like Codex Alimentarious, Universities and Industries are fundamental to achieve the knowledge and control of these not allowed compounds. To this end, maximum levels permitted will be set or ratified for different food additives, by studying their chemical composition, detecting their presence in food, investigating analysis methods, etc.
