Descripción

In order to pave the way for a fruitful cooperation it is necessary to disseminate and exchange know-how from projects in science, research and industry. Therefore, FOODSEG should be used as dissemination platform and possibility even for 7th Framework Programme projects, Horizon 2020 projects, COSME projects, health and consumer protection projects and nationally / regionally funded projects.

INTERNATIONAL NETWORK

The FOODSEG consortium decided to keep the network alive and to go on with the FOODSEG approach. This network is a person-based one but not an organisation-based one. Therefore, we invite experts who are interested in joining our network and to meet regularly in order to discuss research in the different fields along the feed-food chain. Members can join us from all over the world.

FOODSEG mainly focuses on bringing people together in order to initiate cooperations, technology and know-how transfer and common research projects. It is also a platform to disseminate results from EU-funded and other research and cooperation projects.

SAFE FOOD FOR EUROPE

FOODSEG has been funded through the EU 7th Framework Programme (FP7) from May 2011 to April 2014. FOODSEG built a European knowledge-based bio-economy (KBBE) by bringing together science, industry and other stakeholders, to exploit new and emerging research opportunities that address social, environmental and economic challenges. FOODSEG coordinated and supported the overall objective to disseminate state-of-the-art research results in food safety and quality topics through a series of symposia, expert working group Meetings. FOODSEG integrates experts from all steps along the agriculture-feed-food chain and also the consumer side. It is very unique in the area that such a multi- and inter-disciplinary network has been initiated.
